WHY OUR REVOLUTIONARY VALVE IS THE BEST PROTECTION FOR YOUR TOILET

Our British-designed plumbing innovation is helping homeowners tackle one of the most disturbing household problems imaginable — rats and even snakes entering properties through toilet and drainage systems. The MultiFlap non-return valve has been developed to create a physical barrier inside toilet waste pipes and drains, preventing pests from travelling into homes through sewer networks.
The system, known as the MultiFlap, is a one-way non-return valve that fits directly onto most standard 4-inch toilet waste pipes. Under normal conditions, the flap remains closed, opening only when the toilet is flushed. Once water passes through, the valve immediately seals shut again, blocking rodents, reptiles and other pests from entering through the plumbing system.
The valve also helps reduce backflow and cross-flow between connected toilet systems, while the black-coloured internal flap reduces light penetration into drains — something believed to attract pests. The product is manufactured using polypropylene, thermo-plastic elastomer seals and marine-grade stainless steel components designed to resist corrosion and chemical cleaning products.
The issue of pests entering homes through toilets is more common than many homeowners realise. Plumbing experts warn that rats are excellent swimmers capable of travelling long distances through sewer systems and navigating U-bends in toilets. In some cases, snakes have also been reported emerging through plumbing systems after entering drains.
MultiFlap valves are designed as a humane prevention method, creating a closed barrier rather than trapping animals inside drainage systems. The product can last more than 30 years following durability testing involving more than two million opening and closing cycles.
The technology is available in several models, including versions for rear outlet toilets, base outlet toilets and underground drain fittings. Installation is designed to be simple enough for DIY fitting in many properties without major plumbing work.
With increasing urban rat populations and ageing drainage infrastructure contributing to pest problems across many towns and cities, demand for preventative plumbing solutions has grown steadily in recent years. Industry retailers and online sellers describe non-return valves as an increasingly popular method of protecting homes from rodent ingress and sewage backflow.
