NOW TO FIT A MULTIFLAP RODENT BARRIER VALVE

Updated: Dec 20, 2023

It's really very simple, there are two fitting methods for our rodent barrier valve, one for the MF1 & MF2 (both are fitted onto your toilet) and one for the MF3 (which is fitted to your drain)

Let's look at the MF1 and MF2 first

Instructions on how to fit a MultiFlap

STEP 1

Remove the toilet pan. Further information on how to do this is widely available on the internet.

STEP 2

Remove the toilet pan connector from the back of your toilet (the toilet pan connector is approximately 4” diameter, white with a black rubber sealing ring).

STEP 3

Remove the black rubber sealing ring from the existing pan connector or your new pan connector.

STEP 4

Remove the MultiFlap valve from its packaging and push it onto the pan connector. On the lid of the valve you will find the word “top”, this should be positioned so that the lid opens in an upwards fashion to allow full discharge when the toilet is flushed.

STEP 5

When fitting to a vertical pan connector ensure the lid opens with the flow of any bends.

STEP 6

Re-fit the toilet as you would normally, the MultiFlap valve will seal all pipes just like a standard non-protected pan connector.

You're done! You are now fully protected from unwanted creatures come up from the sewer into your toilet.

Now Lets look at the MF3

This valve is fitted to the drain outlet, meaning it will protect all toilets using this drain.

STEP 1

Remove the drain cover. When fitting the valve we recommend hosing or pouring one or two buckets of water down the catchment to remove any sewerage left in the chamber before fitting.

STEP 2

Flush your toilet and take note of which way the flow of water travels, looking for the last outlet the water flows through.

STEP 3

Place the MultiFlap MF3 anti rodent barrier valve onto the 4 inch outlet pipe that the water travelled through, taking care to ensure that the hinge of the flap is on the top.

STEP 4

Once in position, push the MF3 onto the pipe as far as it will go.

STEP 5

Now the valve is in place gently push open the flap to ensure there is no resistance and the flap closes when released.

You're done! You are now fully protected from unwanted creatures come up from the sewer into all toilets connected to this drain outlet
